There are no mods or powermods on RedPost. Moderation is handled through algorithms and via our moderator tool. With our moderator tool, anyone can moderate. We remove bias by genericizing individuals, demographies, which are then used to better train our algorithms. Furthermore all of our moderation is as objective as possible. Content can should be marked as follows:
Off Topic: many topics are open ended, for example politics. Anything good or bad about a particular politician is on-topic for politics. However, there are also some topics which are certainly biased towards positives of certain politicians. For example, Feel the Bern is specifically and only for media that praises Bernie Sanders. The Donald is specifically and only for media that praises Donald Trump. Anything negative in their respective topics can be on topic for Politics, but is off topic for each of their separate fan club topics.
Parody: any account, post, or domain that presents satire or parody should be clearly labeled with "satire" or "parody" and/or should be marked with this.
Controversial
These tags are controversial. By default, all users have controversial content filtered.
Unsourced: any post making a strong or negative assertion that lacks any primary evidence in the form of a direct quote, video, or document is unsourced. This is most commonly found with partisan politics, but it is not only limited to politics.
Inaccurate, Misleading: posts known to be inaccurate or misleading should have this tag added, but primary evidence is required -- that is direct media, quotes, video, or audio, and not paraphrasing or opinion writing. Quotes that are chopped to provide a different meaning deserve this tag.
Politics: RedPo does not discriminate against particular viewpoints. All partisan politics, whether promotional or antagonistic to the interests of any party, candidate, or issue are still politics.
Firearms: this includes firearms, firearms accessories, and political action around firearms (whether pro- or anti- gun). This content is prohibited for anyone under the age of 18.
Narcotics: anything referring to scheduled or prescription drugs, including marijuana, must have the narcotics label.
Harassment: name-calling, use of derogatory terms, curse words.
Gore: anything depicting blood, death, carnage or physical violence must include this tag. It is prohibited for anyone under the age of 18, will have thumbnails blurred or removed from user feeds. Surgical videos are and should be included in this tag.
Alcohol: everything related to alcohol. This content is prohibited for anyone under the age of 21.
Tobacco: everything related to tobacco, including vapine. This content is prohibited for anyone under the age of 18.
Spam: this is commercial advertising or other self promotion trying to disguise itself as content.
Banned
Content in these areas is banned wholesale. In most cases, these constitute a civil or criminal offense. As with all sites in the United States, RedPo is required by law to abide by lawful subpoenas for information that suggests an unlawful use of the platform.
Personal or Confidential Information: also known as doxxing, the posting of addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, schools, or employers of others is strictly prohibited as it's virtually always used for targeted harassment offline. The only exception here is that mentioning the employers of verified accounts is not banned because they categorically hold that out as public information.
Copyright Infringement: do not link to or post illicitly distributed full movies, mp3s, warez, sports streams, or any content that\'s likely to be copyright infringement. This includes a ban on linking to applications used for mass copyright infringement. Authorized representatives of content owners will have this automatically treated as a DMCA complaint.
Trademark Infringement: do not use another's trademark in violation of trademark law.
Pornography: images, video, audio, or writings depicting or suggesting any sort of sexual engagement, regardless of whether the people depicted are acting consensually. "Hentai" and any animated or simulated pornography is also prohibited. There are already porn-sharing sites on the internet. RedPo doesn't need to be another.
Defamation: false statements about non-public figures, and maliciously false statements about public figures and companies/brands are banned if they're likely to cause reputational damage. Unedited primary evidence is never defamation.
Crime: anything advancing the commission of a crime is banned. This includes threats, solicitation (asking someone to commit a crime), conspiracy (planning or agreeing to commit a crime with others), or incitement (directing others to commit a crime). This includes a ban on discussions advocating use of date rape drugs or other drugs administered surreptitiously or without consent. As we cannot determine the context around all narcotics discussions, discussions about drug usage in general are not banned, although soliciting or agreeing to transact for narcotics is banned.
